Thewalt is the oldest stein maker worldwide established by Albert Jac. Thewalt in 1893. Thewalt steins are made from finest German clay using handcraftsmanship and are being reproduced from the original molds by King-Werke (KING) of Höhr-Grenzhausen, Germany.

Thewalt 1893 'Fridolin the Drunken Son' Stein, 0.75L is one of the original Thewalt 1894 Collector's Edition beer steins that is now produced by KING. 
Fridolin is an old German first name meaning "peaceable" and was a nick-name to describe rowdy and cheerful drunken German students before WWI.
The center panel depicts "Fridolin the Drunken Son" and the inscription translates as follows:

German: "Mutter lass die Tuere offen, Dein Soehnlein komt and ist besoffe"
English: "Dear mother, leave the door unlocked. Your sonny-boy comes home drunken like a judge"

Features: medieval themed, deep relief panel, shield and cherubs with musical instruments on both sides with conical, hand-attached pewter lid
