Manfred Albrecht Freiherr von Richthofen (May 1892 - April 1918), also widely known as The Red Baron, was a German fighter pilot during WWI. He became famous for his bravery but also the unmatched skill he had for flying with his Fokker DR. 1 Triple-Decker plane into combat. He was regarded with great respect and received a full military funeral, conducted by the personell of No. 3 Squadron Aiustralian Flying Corps., Six of No. 2 Squadron officers served as pallbearers, and a Guard of Honor from the squadron's other ranks fired a salute.
