This hand-painted medieval Holy Roman Empire beer stein showcases five panels depicting German Emperor Charles V, along with his son, brother, and knights. The front panel features Charles V and his coat of arms, with the year 1556 marking when he abdicated his throne and split his empire between his son, Philipp II, and his brother, Ferdinand I, who are portrayed on the left and right panels beside the handle.
Charles’s empire spanned much of central Europe, including Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, and Italy, with the aim of spreading Christianity under a unified rule. The distinctive base rim is adorned with lions and crowns in striking high relief.
A traditional-style beer stein with a rich cobalt blue background, accented by 24K gold highlights and intricate relief decoration. Topped with a solid pewter crown lid.
