This beautifully hand-painted, rustic heavy-relief stein showcases the Imperial German Eagle at its center.

The side panels highlight architectural landmarks from major cities across the country, including Rothenburg, Heidelberg, Munich, Lorelei on the Rhine, Berlin, Frankfurt, Cologne, and Neuschwanstein Castle. Around the base rim, banners are inscribed with “Germany” in French, German, and English. The handle is decorated with brightly colored German banner flags, while the pewter mountings and thumblift support a domed pewter lid adorned with intricate relief banding.

The Imperial German Eagle traces its roots to an emblem thought to have been used by Charlemagne, the first Frankish ruler crowned Holy Roman Emperor by the Pope in 800 A.D. It was inspired by the Eagle Standard of the Roman army.
