Thewalt is the oldest stein maker worldwide established by Albert Jac. Thewalt in 1893. Thewalt steins are made from finest German clay using handcraftsmanship and are being reproduced from the original molds by King-Werke (KING) of Höhr-Grenzhausen, Germany.
LIMITED EDITION of only 2,500 were ever made by the master craftsmen at King-Werk worldwide! Each stein is individually numbered and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. The rarity of this stein is exceeded only by its eccentricity- making this a perfect addition to any stein collection.
This Berlin Wall beer stein features a real piece of the Berlin Wall on its lid. The front is adorned with a hand-painted relief of the Brandenburg Gate, while the Berlin coat of arms appears between the broken sections of the wall. The wall is inscribed with “Freiheit 9. Nov. 1989” (Freedom Nov. 9th, 1989) and “Mauer – The Wall” (with “die Mauer” meaning “the Wall”).
The banner reads: "Berlin - Hauptstadt von Deutschland" (Berlin, the capitol of Germany).
On the right is Checkpoint Charlie, the famous crossing point between East and West Berlin. On the left stands the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church, built in the 1890s and heavily damaged during WWII bombings. The blue building to its right was added after the war and now serves as the new church, while the original structure remains as a memorial hall.
